The Day of the Pickle

Carole and Jay ordered a "pool pickle" from the Mount Olive Pickle Company after seeing a press release about polar bears at the North Carolina State Zoo frolicking with them.  It's a long story.  Anyway, the Pool Pickle showed up, shipped via UPS, one day in the corner of the Furrs' garage while Jay was out of the state on business -- and Carole hadn't been expecting to see a four foot long polyvinyl pickle standing in the corner of the garage where the UPS guy had left it when she pulled into the garage that evening.  It's not the sort of thing you come home to every day, you know?

Anyway, the pickle was kept in its original wrapping -- none at all -- with the shipping labels still attached, just the way Carole'd found it, until Jay got home from his trip.  Jay and Carole agreed that it must have been a sight, a four foot long polyvinyl pickle making its way down conveyor belts at the big UPS sorting facility in and among all the packages and boxes and stuff.

If you want to order your own, you can get one from this page.
