Lake Champlain Rising, April 2008

Vermont had unusually snowy conditions in the winter of 2007-2008.  All that snow has to go somewhere when the weather warms... namely, Lake Champlain.  The lake passed flood stage around April 13 and the water kept on rising.  The pictures below were taken at the Burlington, Vermont waterfront on the afternoon of Saturday, April 19.

The USGS gage shown in the first image below can be viewed online at http://nh.water.usgs.gov/echo_gage/index.htm.
